RLS Leadership Coordinator

Centennial College - Recreation & Leisure Services

Miranda is the RLS Leadership Coordinator in the Recreation and Leisure Services program at Centennial College. Miranda is a second year Recreation and Leisure Services student. Miranda is a graduate of the General Arts and Science program at Centennial College. Miranda has worked for the City of Toronto in Aquatics for over 5 years in various roles including Swim Instructor, Lifesaving Instructor, Emergency First Aid Instructor, Synchro Instructor, Lifeguard, and most recently Pool In-Charge. Miranda has taught many Bronze Medallion Leadership courses over the years. Miranda is also a Customer Service Representative for Registration at the Scarborough Civic Centre and has knowledge in the CLASS Registration system. Miranda's second semester placement was with Parks and Recreation Ontario (PRO) where she learned a lot about event management and programming, and was a great member of the PRO team. Miranda assisted in running the Trade Show at the 2016 PRO Educational Forum and Trade Show, as well as helped keep registration and behind-the-scenes issues under control. While in the RLS program, Miranda has become trained in Quest 2, and many other certifications. Miranda's background in Aquatics and Recreation, as well as her passion for the Recreation field has encouraged her to pursue a lifelong career in Recreation.

Leanna Ciccoritti

Leanna graduated from York University with a Double Degree in Communications – specializing in marketing and public relations - and Sociology. From there Leanna went on to graduate from Seneca College earning a Diploma in Recreation and Leisure Services. Leanna has worked with the City of Vaughan's Recreation Services Department for over nine years in various roles including program facilitator, director of leadership, client services representative, and community development liaison. Coming from an extensive Arts background, Leanna began her teaching career in Dance and Theatre. Leanna has gone on to become a certified trainer with High Five – Parks and Recreation Ontario and completed several NCCP coaching certifications. Passionate about exercise and health, Leanna's ambition is to increase awareness of physical literacy and lifelong fitness into youth and adult recreation. After residing in Paris France, Leanna came back to Canada to continue pursuing her career in the Recreation field bringing her experiences and newfound captivation of European culture.
